This means it was the cord not the sensor that needed replaced to begin with and it would have been hard to miss since they unpluged that exposed wire from the sensor and plugged it back in. Once the wire was replace the car drove fine but we had to wait till tuesday to get it back and we were more than 200 miles from home and had work on tuesday. The mechanics that did eventually fix the car were irritated that the previous mechanics had missed the issue since it was hard to miss and documented the issue with us with pictures and notes per invoice.
I called the manager of TriStar and it took about a week before he took my call. I was polite although he wasn't very and after a short call he promised to send us a partial refund. It was all we really wanted since mistakes happen but their negligence caused a car fire, and collateral damage was done through car rental, another tow, another car repair bill and a hotel stay, all because they missed a cord they would have been handling during the initial repair.

About another hour down the road the car begins to have the same issue as before. Car stalls out on the highway and catches fire. Since it is the afternoon of labor day weekend everyone that can repair the car is now closed and we are to far away from TriStar to bring it back (even if they were open). We have to tow it, get a hotel and the next day rent a car because these guys missed the actual problem. The next mechanic will show us that the wire that connects to the sensor is destroyed. The plug has oil on it, the rubber is gone and the wires are exposed near the plug.
Our car broke down while traveling on friday of labor day weekend. We had the car towed here since it had good reviews and was a ford dealership. They said it was a sensor and replaced it and sent us on our way.

Needless to say he never sent the check he promised. I know mistakes happen and I would have considered this good customer service. But I guess the only response now is to share our story. Our bad situation became a 100 times worse because we took our car here instead of anywhere else and what's worse is they were rude and cheap in response to their own negligence.
